The eolian sediments have been studied more than the other sedimentary environments, but much more could be accomplished, especially with regard to measuring advance rates and the impact on the dune system of specific climatic events, especially wind storms. The most important project, however, has to be to somehow obtain thermoluminescence or other dates within the eolian sediments so the ages of different portions of the dunefield can be better understood and tied to events in the history of the ancient lakes, evaporite flats and playas.
